VIP & Agent Architecture: Integration

Integration for VIP & Agent Architecture.

Integration in practice

VIP in the verification hierarchy

Block test: active VIP drives and checks one interface. Subsystem test: passive VIP monitors fabric traffic. Chip test: passive VIP on external interfaces + firmware-driven stimulus.

VIP reuse across levels requires parameterization and configuration, not just instantiation.

  • Scoreboard at block level may not exist at chip level — plan for this.

  • VIP error messages are evidence, not root cause.

  • Trace applicable spec clauses to all required evidence; VIP checks are one possible source.
