STA Framework Drills

Three timed drill sets that apply the answer framework: fundamentals, constraints, and signoff. Each prompt has a time limit and a numeric answer you can check.

Knowing the framework is not the same as using it at speed. These drill sets give six prompts each, with a time limit and a number to check. Cover the answers, speak for the allotted time using Assumption, Mechanism, Trade-off, Evidence, then compare. A runnable block in each lesson recomputes every answer so the numbers can be trusted.

Drill set

After it you can...

Drill Set: Fundamentals

Compute setup, hold, half-cycle, CRPR and gating slack in 90 seconds per prompt.

Drill Set: Constraints

Answer exception, clock, input and output delay questions with numbers.

Drill Set: Signoff

Handle union TNS, derates, SI, hold fixes, removal and skew windows.

Check yourself How should you use a timer?

Speak for the full limit even if you finish early with the answer: the extra seconds are for the trade-off and evidence steps that candidates usually skip.
